Amenorrhea lactation disorders produce secondary amenorrhea accompanied by lactation in the absence of breast-feeding, such as:
- Forbes-Albright syndrome: rare endocrine disorder caused by a hormone-secreting tumor of the hypothalamus or pituitary gland that produces excessive amounts of prolactin.
- Chiari-Frommel syndrome: rare endocrine disorder that affects women who have recently given birth, in which prolactin secretion is continued and gonadotropin production is decreased.
Associated features include hot flashes, dyspareunia, vaginal atrophy and large, engorged breasts.
