Portal triads occupy each corner of the lobule: portal vein (largest struct), hepatic artery (smallest of the three), bile duct (lined with cuboidal epith) and lymphatic vessels (nerves and capillaries may be found here as well) surrounded by a sheath of connective tissue (collagen type III – reticular fibers)

Bộ ba cửa (portal triad) là một thành phần của tiểu thùy gan với 5 cấu trúc: Động mạch gan riêng, tĩnh mạch cửa, ống mật, mạch bạch huyết và nhánh của thần kinh X.

Do 2 cấu trúc cuối được tìm ra sau nên người ta vẫn quen gọi theo tên ban đầu là portal triad
